At the Materials Science Research Center, the following four research groups are promoting material science research that contributes to nuclear science and nuclear power utilization by making full use of neutrons at JRR-3 and synchrotron radiation at SPring-8.

Neutron Materials and Analysis Research Division (Tokai)

  • Research on strongly correlated electron systems by complementary use of neutron and synchrotron radiation X-ray
  • Development of techniques for evaluating various functional materials by using neutron scattering
