At the Material Science Research Center, we have been advancing the upgrading of research equipment and the research using neutrons and synchrotron radiation at advanced facilities such as the JRR-3 research reactor, the J-PARC high-intensity proton accelerator facility, and SPring-8, a large synchrotron radiation facility. Through these activities, we aim to improve fundamental technologies at R&D sites and in industry, and to create innovations that will open up new frontiers in nuclear science.
